We offer short, flexible FREE Functional Skills Maths and English courses, that will help you to develop the everyday skills needed in life and work. Functional Skills at Level 2 are equivalent to a GCSE and are accepted by most employers and many further/higher education colleges as an alternative to GCSE. Courses are delivered both face to face at a wide range of venues across Lancashire and online.

Whichever programme you choose there will be a range of resources, tutorials and 1:1 support available to help you along the way.
How to get started and next steps.
To get started with Functional Skills, the first step is to complete an assessment so that we can identify the best class/course for you.
To book an assessment
1. Please click on the link above to ‘Book an Assessment’. We have various assessment sessions across Lancashire both in-person and online.
2. At the assessment you will complete a short activity to work out your existing skill level and then discuss the outcome with one of our friendly teachers to find out the best option for you.
3. Finally you will be enrolled onto your course and given a start date.

*To learn online courses, you must have access to a PC or laptop and the internet. Places on online programmes are limited and subject to eligibility. You will not have already achieved a Level 2 qualification in these areas.
