This face to face course is one of our short courses within languages. It offers a flavour of Sicilian culture, lifestyle and language. It also encourages learners to take notice of the very antique Sicilian culture. Learners will also listen to some Italian words and phrases too.
As many aspects of the culture and lifestyle of an island encourages people to talk about, the course encourages you to connect with other class members to share your experiences, do some research yourself and pass on your knowledge to others. Learners could take the inspiration from the class for further individual research and to plan their own trip to some of these localities which are mentioned in class.
No prior knowledge is required just an interest in people and places and a desire to learn about the amazing stories of this region. Learners are encouraged to bring their own stories and research on the topic to share with the group.
How will I Learn?
• Your course will be delivered by a subject specialist in classroom.
• You will be encouraged to carry your own researches at home using the internet on your device or other resources.
• Some of the course content will also be accessible via our online learning sites.
The course is 2.5 hours per week/session and is delivered over 2 weeks/sessions.
