This course offers a flavour of the language, food and lifestyle of Italy. Learners will be able to listen to and learn to say a few basic words and phrases linked to greetings and ordering food.

Learners will have the opportunity to learn about the way of life in Italy, some of the main traditions and festivals and they will be encouraged to join in discussions, while connecting with like-minded people.



How will I Learn?

Your course will be delivered by a subject specialist in a live-online classroom or face-to-face. 

You will need to be able to access the internet on a device with speakers or earphones (online learning). 

Some of the course content may also be accessed via our online learning platform. 

Once you have enrolled onto the course you will be sent further information from your course tutor on how to get started (online learning). 

Your tutor will be on hand throughout the course to offer you support, feedback and guidance.

The course is 2.5 hours per week/session and is delivered over 1-2 weeks/sessions.

This course is designed to build on the communications skills and grammar knowledge following the Post-Intermediate and Advanced course, to widen your vocabulary and develop fluency in the target language. This course will enable you to initiate and participate in a range of communicative scenarios in speech and in writing and improve the language skills further by using authentic resources and deepen your understanding and connection with the relevant country. This is a live online Intermediate course designed to widen your vocabulary and develop fluency in the German language. This course will enable you to initiate and participate in a range of communicative scenarios in speech and in writing.

This course is an introduction to our language and culture classes. It offers a flavour of the target country and language. Learners will get acquainted with key phrases and some basic vocabulary to have the opportunity to get by in the target country and to enjoy the travel experience. In addition, learners will be introduced to some practical information which is useful to travel safely and with more confidence.
Some of the areas may include a few basic aspects of the language to get by such as greetings and introductions, eating out, directions, booking accommodation and medical emergencies. This means that learners will practise speaking in the target language and will get the ongoing opportunity to share their experiences and knowledge.
Learners will listen to a lot of information which can impact on their travelling and are therefore encouraged to take notes for future reference.
Connecting with like-minded people, may open up possibilities and ideas for further travel in the target country. It may also encourage further research and social interaction within the community.

No prior knowledge or skills are required. Learners will leave the sessions equipped with ideas for further individual research and resources.

The aim of the course is to enable students to speak and understand the language. Students will learn the language and demonstrate their knowledge through a variety of activities: role-play, pair work, listening and reading comprehension exercises and discussion around key vocabulary.

This course is designed to build on the communications skills and basic grammar knowledge following the Improvers course. During this course you will converse using more tenses, ask and give simple opinions, improve the language skills further by using authentic resources and deepen your understanding and connection with the relevant country. Some courses will require the purchase of some learning material. 

The course is 2.5 hours per session and is delivered for 10 weeks

This face to face course is one of our short courses within languages. It offers a flavour of Sicilian culture, lifestyle and language. It also encourages learners to take notice of the very antique Sicilian culture. Learners will also listen to some Italian words and phrases too.
As many aspects of the culture and lifestyle of an island encourages people to talk about, the course encourages you to connect with other class members to share your experiences, do some research yourself and pass on your knowledge to others. Learners could take the inspiration from the class for further individual research and to plan their own trip to some of these localities which are mentioned in class.

No prior knowledge is required just an interest in people and places and a desire to learn about the amazing stories of this region. Learners are encouraged to bring their own stories and research on the topic to share with the group.
