Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness (EQUAL)

Course Overview

This qualification is designed for learners looking to increase their knowledge and awareness of mental health. It will help the learner to develop their awareness of issues surrounding mental health and to know the rights of those with mental health issues.

These may be learners who wish to access this training with a view to progressing to further qualifications or employment within health and social care, to complement other qualifications within health or health and social care, or to develop in their current job role within health and social care.

What Will I Learn and How Will I be Learning?

You will be completing work in relation to each unit, which a range of activities and questioning to allow you to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding. You will complete this online using the online platform.

Entry Requirements

In order to attend the course, learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Level 1 and above. Learners will also need a good level of IT skills to be able to access and navigate the learning platform and keep in contact with their personal tutor.

Learners will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet device with access to the internet.  The setup of this course enables learners to study independently and flexibly at times convenient to them.

All learners will need to enrol online prior to any course starting through the online enrolment portal.

- Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 2

- Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health Level 2

- Certificate in Understanding Working with People with Mental Health Needs Level 2

- Certificate in Understanding Common Health Conditions Level 2
