Creative Recycling & Eco Crafts

Course Overview

This course combines nature and recycling with craft; creating handcrafted products using materials we would normally throw away. Sustainability, re-using and upcycling are key elements to this course, whilst making some lovely handmade crafts for the home or as gifts. Learn to create bees wax eco wraps, seed paper and more.

As an extra treat, Lancashire Adult Learning will be posting a resource pack out to you, containing all of the resources you will need to take part in this course.

How long is the course?

The course is 2 hours per week/session and is delivered over 2 weeks.

What Will I Learn and How Will I be Learning?

You will be asked to complete:

• A Learning mat to record your learning journey.

• Complete a Microsoft From or other virtual platforms as directed by the teacher to reflect and record your learning.

• A Destination Survey and Student Satisfaction form.

Entry Requirements

In order to attend the course, learners should be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English at Entry Level 3 and above.  

You can take part with no prior knowledge or experience and all activities will be demonstrated by the teacher.

Learners will also need a basic level of IT skills to be able to access the course and follow online instructions. If training or support is needed, please enquire about our free ICT courses.

Learners will need access to a computer, laptop or tablet device with access to the internet.  All devices should have a camera, sound and a microphone so they are able to interact with their teacher and peers during the course. 

The course will be delivered online using Zoom or Microsoft Teams and learners will be sent the join details and links prior to the course. Both of these online platforms can be accessed via an app on a smart phone, tablet or iPad or alternatively via the relevant website:

Additional Information

The course is 2 hours per week/session and is delivered over 2 weeks.

So the course can start on time, it’s important to be ready to join your online course 5 – 10 minutes prior to the official start time.

Learners will also need:

• Access to an oven and a regular baking sheet or tray.

• Mixing bowl

• A jam jar or tin can.

• Apron to protect clothes

• The teacher will send a more detailed list of any other equipment needed after enrolment.
