Lancashire Adult Learning prepares community celebration event to mark Lancashire Day

Lancashire Adult Learning is preparing its largest day of activities yet to celebrate everything that is great about the Red Rose County.

The LAL team has been busy putting together a family friendly programme of events for Lancashire Day on Wednesday 27 November, for a celebration its home at Northlight in Brierfield.

All members of the community are invited along to celebrate the county’s proud culture and traditions between 10.30am and 2.30pm on the day, and to take part in or enjoy the 20 different activities that will be put on throughout the event.

Children from Pendle Primary Academy in Brierfield and Cherry Fold Primary School in Burnley have already accepted the invitation and will be attending to join in the with the celebrations on the day.

Nicola Hall, Head of Curriculum and Strategic Partnerships at Lancashire Adult Learning, said: “As the second largest adult community learning provider in the country, operating across the largest geographical footprint in Lancashire’s 12 districts, the team here at LAL really understands the intricacies and quirks of this great county’s heritage.

“That’s why we were so keen to mark the day with a larger programme of activities than we have done before. There is something for everyone at our Lancashire Day celebration, representing the huge range of provision that we as an organisation offer.

As well as its targeted delivery and partnership work, Lancashire Adult Learning offers a huge range of planned provision across the Red Rose County, from Arts and Crafts to Humanities classes, Languages to Health and Wellbeing sessions and Functional Skills English and Maths and Employability courses.

In February 2018, Lancashire Adult Learning was named as the inaugural winner of the national Adult and Community Learning Provider of the Year at the TES FE Awards.
