Christmas is coming, and we’ve been helping a group of crafty volunteers who are looking forward to raising plenty of money for St Catherine’s Hospice, Lostock Hall.
With help from our Community Development team, 23 volunteers with an interest in all things creative get together once a month to plan and make festive crafts which will be on sale at the hospice’s Christmas Fair in December.
Table runners, cards, knitted toys, decorations and other Christmassy bits and pieces have been created by the group and will raise much-needed funds for St Catherine’s. The craft group has also given people the chance to get together and socialise – enjoying a brew and a biscuit while they knit, stick or sew!
St Catherine’s Hospice is a charity which helps people affected by serious illness enjoy quality of life and have dignity in death. The hospice could not survive without the on-going support of volunteers in raising a huge £3.7m each year. For more information on supporting the hospice visit www.stcatherines.co.uk
