Arts and Languages Festival treat for Lancaster learners

Learners with a love for arts and languages are in for a pre-Christmas treat with Lancashire Adult Learning in Lancaster next week.

LAL’s free Festival of Arts and Languages will be held at The Storey from 4pm until 7pm on Wednesday 13 December and there will be plenty for visitors to get involved with.

The celebration of crafts and culture is perfect for those looking to do something different this festive season, and those attending will have the chance to take part in free ‘Have a Go’ taster activities, arts and crafts activities and enjoy an art exhibition.

On top of that, there will be the opportunity to sample different languages and cultures with our ‘Taste of’ activities and LAL’s Humanities offer with ‘Get Started with your Family History’. Refreshments will be available and LAL’s latest course guide information will be on hand to browse too as learners have the chance to enrol on to a course in time for the New Year.

Hélène Purnell, Lancashire Adult Learning’s Curriculum Leader for Languages, Art and Humanities said: “We’re thrilled to be showcasing our Arts and Languages offer in the beautiful surroundings of The Storey in Lancaster and we look forward to welcoming learners to our event.

“It’s a great opportunity for people to come along and explore the breadth of courses we deliver and discover our new course guide for the Spring which is out now. It is packed full of courses to help adults across Lancashire learn a new skill, enhance their social life, or develop their career prospects.

“In the Lancaster area, we have courses ranging from silver jewellery making to drawing and painting; German, French, Italian and Spanish classes through to learning all about Latin and French Literature.”

During the Festival of Arts and Languages, adults will also have the perfect opportunity to speak to LAL’s expert staff.
