Learners from our Entry Level English class have been busy organising ways of raising money and donations for a Chorley foodbank.
The group has arranged for a donations box to be set up at Lancashire College’s reception, and have put out the call for items such as tinned and dry food, baby food, nappies and wipes as well as more seasonal treats such as Christmas cake and chocolates. The donations will be handed over to the foodbank, run by Living Waters Church, in time to help those in need at Christmas.
To boost funds even further, the learners have set up a ‘Guess How Many Sweets’ game – there’s a jar of sweets at reception in College, guess how many there are for a £1 donation and you could win the lot!
The learners have not only organised these activities, but have been involved in spreading the word with posters around College, posts on Facebook and tweets.
We’ll keep you updated on how much is raised and how much food is donated for this worthwhile cause.
